Star Wars Squadrons (Code Name: Maverick) Details Leaked

Electronic Arts has had a wild ride with the Star Wars license. There have been way to many canceled games and a lot of controversy. However, Electronic Arts seems like they are finally turning things around. Battlefront 2 actually ended as a good game but it left many fans wanting more since a lot of characters and maps never came to the game. Fallen Order was a huge success and proved that single player games can still make money. We know that Fallen Order has a sequel on the way but another Star Wars game just got even more of a confirmation.

A few months ago, the PlayStation store leaked an image for a game showing Star Wars Maverick. Judging off the artwork and some information from insiders, fans were able to determine that it was going to be some sort of space pilot simulation game. Today, Xbox leaked artwork for a Star Wars game called Squadrons which is what Maverick turned into. Insider Jeff Grubb went on twitter to confirm a few more details about Squadrons.

    • Squadrons will feature a few hour long single player campaign
    • Squadrons will have a huge focus on multiplayer space combat
    • Squadrons will be made by EA Motive which is the team behind Battlefront II’s single player campaign
    • Squadrons will release on consoles and PC this fall
    • Squadrons should have a trailer with game play on June 18th at the EA Play event
  • Battlefield 6 Setting Confirmed As Modern Day By Multiple Insiders

Battlefield 6 Setting Confirmed As Modern Day By Multiple Insiders

The last Battlefield game set during the modern day time period was Battlefield Hardline back in March of 2015. Even that was hardly a modern day shooter considering the fact that it was basically cops vs robbers. After Battlefield games set in WWI and WWII, many fans have been begging for their games to return to present time period. It looks like that wish is going to be granted.

Back in May of 2020, an insider named Tom Henderson, who was accurate on leaks around Call of Duty Modern Warfare mentioned that Battlefield fans would be happy with the setting of the next game in a response to someone who wanted things to go back to a modern day scenario. Tom also confirmed that he was not talking about a remaster but the next main game in the series.

However, his tweets went under the radar, and not many other people in the industry confirmed or denied what he said. That all changed today. The man, the myth, and the legend confirmed it. That is right, Jeff Grubb saw a tweet that was linking a resetera.com article which mentioned the original tweets. Jeff’s response was three letters and a period. “Yup.”

On top of that, Jeff confirmed that it wouldn’t be a Hardline style which is further backing the information that was given to us by Tom.

We are personally hoping for Battlefield Bad Company 3 set during the modern day but just a simple Battlefield 6 set in the Middle East is perfectly okay with us. We expect that we will get some sort of update on Battlefield directly from EA at their EA Play Live on June 18th.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 Reveal Show Leaked

Remember back in January when we all expected to be seeing the PlayStation 5 get revealed in February? That date got pushed back so many times until we finally had an official date being June 4th. However, that got delayed in support for the Black Lives Matter protests. We now have the new date after it got leaked on a Twitch ad. We are also going to be going over some additional information on the games to expect at the show after a new leak came out.

As you were probably able to tell by the cover photo, the official PS5 reveal event date will be June 11th at 4 pm Eastern Standard Time. This photo was confirmed as an authentic ad by Daniel Ahmad.

As far as what games we should expect at the show, a new leak emerged from Game Reactor confirming a few of them.

    • Demon Souls Remake is real, and being made by Bluepoint Games who remade titles like God of War Collection, Shadow of The Colossus and more. He says it’s coming for PS5 and that “you can’t compare it to what they did with SOTC” because it’s a supposedly a way bigger project. Says it’ll be showed off during the PS5 State of Play.

    • Horizon Zero Dawn 2 will be revealed at the PS5 event. Doesn’t seem to have any new info besides to expect game play and a release date.

    • Resident Evil 8 started out as a spin-off, but quickly evolved into a mainline entry. Confirms the whole village-setting, and says the game will be released early 2021. “Thinks” they’ll show it off soon, either at the Sony event or at a Resident Evil exclusive event later in June.

    • Housemarque (Resogun, Stormdivers) is a finish game studio that’s now pretty much a part of Sony. They’re working on some new unannounced AAA title for the PS5.

    • Silent Hill is real as well, and confirms it’ll be shown off around the same time as Resident Evil 8. Says when Konami tried to put off the rumors back in march, they lied. Says it’s pretty far along in development and to expect it at the Sony event.

EA Access and Additional Games Are Coming To Steam

Back in October of 2019, EA had started the process of bringing some of their games back to Valve’s Steam. However, today we got some updates on when you should expect the rest of EA’s games to make the leap of faith. On Steam itself, you can see the “EA Access…coming soon to Steam” artwork on EA store listings.

    Valve’s Steam

Today, we saw the return of Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, Need for Speed Heat, and about ten others. Along with that, some additional DLC content was also added.

Furthermore, Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb confirmed that other games will be making their way to the platform in waves including Apex Legends, Battlefield V, Sims 4, and Titanfall 2. Jeff said this on the matter, “EA is planning further waves of game drops on Steam in the coming days and weeks. Expect Battlefield games to hit around the time of EA Play on June 11. Sims 4 will come a week later.”

Update 4: We have published what we want and don’t want to see in Cold War. Click HERE to give it a read and to share your own opinions.

Update 3: Information about the beta including the day you can play it has leaked. Read more HERE.

Update 2: I have added the game play using a link from another site. This one should stay up longer then the twitter links. Click HERE.

Update: After about twelve hours, the footage has been taken down by Activison.

A few weeks ago, it was confirmed by many in the community that the next Call of Duty game would be a soft reboot of the Black Ops series set in the Cold War. Today, a twitter user by the name of @walshburg showed off what he is claiming to be pre-alpha footage of the game. Activision has been taking down the footage so we don’t know how long this will stay up. However, if they are taking the videos down, that means there is some truth to it.

Some additional information shared by him are the following details:

    • The map was called “Tanks”
    • It could very well just be a placeholder
    • Graphics don’t represent what the final project will look like since it is pre-alpha footage
    • Its using a version of the BO3/BO4 engine
    • No dead silence currently
    • No sliding currently
    • A few other insiders confirmed that they saw 45 minutes of game-play

  • Halo Infinite Character/Item Leak

    Halo Infinite Character/Item Leak

While Microsoft has been tight lipped regarding new information about Halo Infinite, we have known for a while that more information would be coming at their July showcase. However, we now know more thanks to a popular leaker in the Funko Pop! community. This is your minor spoiler warning. The leaker who goes by the name @anerdydad has a perfect record in the past with leaking characters/devices from Avengers Infinity War, Avengers End Game, Star Wars The Mandalorian, and most recently a possible enemy for the new Marvel Eternals. The three items that have leaked are Master Chief, Mark VII, and then an alternative Mark VII with Vakara. Lets dive into what we think these items are.

    • The first one is Master Chief. There is no explanation needed for this one so lets keep on going.
    • The second listing is for Mark VII. We are assuming this could be a multiplayer spartan.
    • The third listing includes Mark VII but also something/someone called Vakara. We have a few theories regarding this one. The most logical option is that its some sort of weapon. Another option is that its an AI fragment that is similar to Cortana.

We can’t confirm any of these until either more footage releases in July or if another leak happens sooner with images. What ever option it is, things will be getting crazy for Halo fans during the next few weeks.
